The fifth season ended in similar fashion. An explosion and the screen lit up in white ( with a beautiful black writing, ... to review this scene, the screen shows "listing in mourning ). The background song could have been We'll meet again but ... too much as a clue!
In all my years I have, we have identified so many and such references ai quali Lost si è ispirato ... e uno, fondamentale, ci è sfuggito!
Ma è non è finita qui!
Dr. Strangelove è liberamente ispirato al romanzo Red Alert .
Ci fu una controversia in merito. Nello stesso anno uscì un altro film, Fail-Safe (ispirato ad un omonimo libro) Entrambi i film hanno una trama simile. ( l'autore di Red Alert intentò una causa per plagio ).
Fail-Safe si conclude con un'esplosione. L'ultima"immagine" è solo bianco abbagliante. Poi appare la scritta FAIL-SAFE.
Il film ruota intorno al fatto che una giornata come tante possa trasformarsi in un incubo. Che in un momento " Will have you sitting on the brink of eternity ". Che un banale errore è in grado di scatenare spropositate reazioni a catena. Che, nostante si creda di poter contenere determinate situazioni, l'unica via di salvezza è quella di sacrificare, sacrificarsi in nome di un bene superiore. Perchè lo spettro potrebbe essere " There's nothing to go home to ".
Torniamo a Dr. Strangelove. Il titolo, oppurtunamente modificato, ben si adatta alla condizione di Jack nelle ultime puntate della quinta stagione. Dr. Shephard ovvero: come imparò a non preoccuparsi e ad amare la bomba.
Una bomba. Jughead. E' scoppiata, non è scoppiata. Ha funzionato, non ha funzionato.
